Christians, Creation, and Evolution

The doctrine of Creation, that being the teaching of "creation out of nothing" (creatio ex nihilo), is a most profitable teaching for humankind. This doctrine comes from the Creator Himself through the Holy Scriptures which He has so graciously provided for our own edification. He shows that the earth was created for a purpose (Isa 45:18), and that humans are the crowning glory of His creation (Gen 1:26-28).
The doctrine of Evolution basically teaches that through the combination of certain natural processes and extended lengths of time, we have evolved into the universe as we know it today. This doctrine comes from humans and branches off into a wide array of theories that relegate the Creation account of the Bible to the land of myths and fables (Rms 1:18-25).

I can somewhat understand and feel sorry for those who adhere to the doctrine of Evolution but don’t know the Bible, at least they have some excuse for there ignorance on the issue. This excuse will not save them in the end however, for God says that we are all without excuse since we should see Him in the creation itself (Psm 19:1, Acts 17:24-30, Rms 1:20). I hope and pray that those in this category would soon relieve their present state of ignorance, study the Bible, and come to know the truth that sets them free (Jhn 8:32, 17:17).

I do not understand, and even hold a guarded level of contempt for those who do know the Bible, and yet still dismiss the book of Genesis. To make matters worse, there are many in this camp who even profess to be Christians! A Christian by definition is "one who follows the Christ". To follow someone is to learn and submit to their teachings. Jesus not only accepted Genesis and it’s account of Creation, he taught from it (Mth 19:4-5, Mk 10:6, Jhn 8:44)! You can not be a faithful disciple if you dismiss your teacher’s teachings! It will be better in the Day of Judgment for those who do not know the word of God than for those who do and yet still reject it (2Pet 2:21)!

If you know the word of God (The Holy Bible), and you are an advocate of the theory of Evolution, please don’t claim to be a follower of Christ - you will be a lot more credible in your delusions and a lot less hypocritical in your theology!

Submitted to the Daily Item 1/29/08 in response to recent opinions from "Christians" that did not believe in the creation account of Genesis. It never ran.
